Fruit Canning Factory
The canning factory, based just outside Cape Town, is surrounded by the peach growers and vineyards of the Stellenbosch area. Buying in produce from the local growers, the factory prepares, cans, cooks, labels and packs peaches and other tinned fruits for wholesale to supermarkets all over the world.
This productivity improvement programme worked with the line supervisors to analyse how effectively the client’s workers were on the processing lines. Detailed observation and analysis allowed us to show the company how to use their existing staff better to speed up productivity throughout the manufacturing process, maximising machine capacities and increasing their output.
